Hi parents and students! My name is Kelli Orr (Ms. Orr). I am from Memphis, Tennessee. I have one son who is my entire heart and who drives me to give your child the best because I deeply understand the concept of "it takes a village." I graduated from Houston High School in 2011. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Physical Therapy, from THE University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2015 (Go VOLS!). Although I received a degree focusing in the health science field, I've always had a passion for youth and education. After a short period of time working for a non-profit organization, focusing heavily on the next generation, that same passion drove me to begin a rewarding journey to receive my Masters of Arts in Teaching Degree from Christian Brothers University. I completed this graduate program and received my Masters of Arts in Teaching in December 2019. Soon after receiving this degree, I began my career teaching 6th grade English Language Arts at Highland Oaks Middle under the leadership of Dr. Monica Fleming.
As an educator, my mission is to provide each and every student with relevant knowledge, fearlessness to engage in new things, eagerness to step out on their own and the capacity to be and do their very best at all times. It is my goal to aid my students in realizing that, through learning, they can enhance their lives in a positive manner. We will be partners, we will be supporters and we will all be champions! I look forward to SOARING HIGH with each of my students!
